The Tahoe Knight Monsters made two transactions on Thursday as they signed forward Samuel Huo to an Amateur Try-Out Agreement (ATO) and placed defenseman Benjamin Lindberg on waivers.

Samuel Huo

Huo, 24, is coming off his only season in the NCAA, where he put up seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in 30 games at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Prior to joining the Mavericks, Huo spent three seasons in USports at the University of British Columbia. During his first season with the Thunderbirds, he recorded 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 28 games and was named to the USports (West) First All-Star Team. He would add eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 17 USports playoff games and won a Championship with the Thunderbirds in 2024. The following season, he won a Universiade Gold Medal with Canada, where he put up four goals and four assists for eight points along with 31 PIMs in eight games.

The Richmond, British Columbia, native began his career at the junior level, spending five seasons in the WHL with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Tri-City Americans. During his time in the WHL, he recorded 60 goals and 66 assists for 126 points in 270 games, and played in 10 WHL Playoff games.

Benjamin Lindberg

Lindberg, 26, had one assist in three games during his stint with the Knight Monsters. He also saw nine games with the Adirondack Thunder earlier this season. The East Aurora, New York, native began the season in the SPHL, spending time with the Peoria Rivermen and Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. During his time in the SPHL this season, he has one goal and two assists for three points in 13 games. Lindberg is expected to return to Roanoke if he goes unclaimed.
