The ECHL has named Reading Royals goaltender Yaniv Perets as the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 23rd-29th. In two games last week, Perets pitched a 37-save shutout on Wednesday and then a 15-save shutout on Saturday Night, both against the Norfolk Admirals. Perets, 26, is 13-8-3 with a 2.92 GAA, .906SV%, and three shutouts in 25 games this season with the Royals. He’s also seen three games in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, posting a 1-2 record with a 3.21 GAA and .873 SV%. For Perets, this is the second time he’s won this award, and he’s also the second Royal’s goaltender to win this award this season.

The Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, native is in his third season in the ECHL, having spent time with the Bloomington Bison, Norfolk Admirals, and Reading Royals. During his time in the ECHL, he’s put up 43-31-7 with a 2.85 GAA, .905SV%, and eight shutouts. He has a 5-5 record with a 3.04 GAA and .888SV% in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games. During the 2024-25 season, he had a 1-2-1 record with a 3.93 GAA and .846SV% in four games. Perets has also seen two games at the NHL level with the Carolina Hurricanes.
