Sportico has released their updated list of NHL franchise valuation figures. This year, the Edmonton Oilers have risen one spot in the list to the sixth most valuable franchise.
The Oilers are now valued at $2.76B, up 15% and $360M from last year. Going to the finals two years in a row, and having the best player in the world, definitely helps.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently in a league of their own in term of franchise valuation, however the Oilers are an extremely solid organization and are still on the rise. If they can win a Stanley Cup or three in the next few years, there is a possibility the Oilers climb up to the top two or three in the NHL.
What does seem very attainable is becoming the second most valuable Canadian franchise. Year over year, the Oilers have made up $100M of ground on the Montreal Canadiens for the second most valuable Canadian franchise. The Habs are a team on the rise, but if the Oilers can continue to go deep into the playoffs, they could surpass the Canadiens.
