Edmonton Oilers prospect roundup: Only a handful of players still in their postseason

With most seasons coming to an end shortly here lets take a quick look at the remaining prospects within the Edmonton Oilers system that are still playing games.

There is not much to get into, but lets take a look.

Welcome to the TOR Edmonton Oilers prospect update. Each week, we’ll take a dive into how the Oilers’ prospects have done in their respective leagues. We have defined a prospect as a skater who has played fewer than 65 NHL games, and is younger than 25 years of age.

Edmonton Oilers prospect updates

ECHL

• The Fort Wayne Komets have been eliminated in six games by the Toledo Walleye; this follows three straight defeats 3–2 (May 7), 2–1 (May 8), and 5–3 (May 10).
• James Stefan showed up in the last three games of the Komets playoff run, finding the net twice, and posting one assist.
• Nathaniel Day for his part served well as their starting goalie early in their run, posting a total .914 and 2.17 GAA.

NCAA

• Bauer Berry and the Muskegon Lumberjacks have split a pair of games with the Waterloo Blackhawks in the USHL league final. They lost game one on May 9, 8–5, but found victory in Game 2 4–1 the following night. Games 3 and 4 are scheduled for May 16, and May 17.

OHL

• The London Knights are in the midst of their OHL final against the Oshawa Generals. The Series is at 3–1 London. Sam O’Reilly and William Nicholl have each found the scoresheet twice, and continue to be quality pieces for a team swarming in NHL talent.

Russia

• Maxim Beryozkin appeared in one game this past week, potting his teams only goal in a 2–1 loss against Traktor Chelyabinsk. They are down 1–0 in the overall best of seven series of the KHL final.
