Electric power play, Wallstedt's perfect shootout help Wild beat Kings

The Wild scored all three of its regulation goals in the first period, and all of them came on the power play as the Kings were called for four penalties, including three in the span of three minutes and four seconds. 

Jared Spurgeon gave the Wild a 1-0 lead with 11 seconds left on Minnesota's second power play of the period. Then the Kings were called for a puck over the class at the 15:00 mark of the period, followed by a hooking penalty 18 seconds later. 

Kirill Kaprizov made the Kings pay when the Wild had a two-man advantage, scoring his third goal of the season. And the Wild made it 3-0 just 20 seconds later when Matt Boldy netted his third goal of the season. 

After a scoreless second period, the Kings rallied for three goals in the third period, including the game-tying goal by Adrian Kempe with 44 seconds to play while the Kings had pulled goaltender Darcy Kuemper for an extra attacker. 

The Wild had to kill a Bold slashing penalty for the final 90 seconds of overtime, which led to Wallstedt blanking the Kings in a shootout that went four rounds.

Wallstedt finished the night with 31 saves for his first win in his St. Paul debut. 

Minnesota won't get much time to rest as they travel to Dallas to face the Stars at 8:30 p.m. CT Tuesday. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and locally on FanDuel Sports Network North.
