Former NHLer and current analyst P.K. Subban eviscerated former Maple Leafs defensemen Justin Holl during live broadcast on Saturday night for his horrible play.
Subban, who has always been known for his exuberant personality, has become quite controversial at times since transitioning to an analyst role. Heading into Saturday, he most recently went viral for calling out the NBA and their 'soft' culture.
On Saturday, however, Subban turned his attention towards criticizing the NHL, specifically former Leafs defensemen Justin Holl in the middle of the NHL on TNT broadcast during the game between the Detroit Red Wings and Vegas Golden Knights.
Midway through the second period, Knights forward Tomas Hertl scored his third goal of the game on the power play, which led to Subban targeting Holl for his inability to play actual defense and for his reluctance to be physical.
'Justin Holl has been soft since he's been in the league. He was soft in Toronto, soft still.'
Holl, who was often the whipping boy during his time in Toronto, bolted for Detroit in the summer of 2023 to sign a 3-year deal with a $3.4M cap hit.
Since joining the Wings, Holl has continued to struggle to the point that he had been placed on waivers at the beginning of the season.
While Leafs fans were thrilled to see Holl leave, Wings fans are probably wishing, at this moment in time, that he had gone somewhere else.
