Filip Zadina played the least against Tampa of any healthy Red Wings skater

Despite posting some of the best underlying numbers in the game, Detroit Red Wings forward Filip Zadina was held to just 10:34 of ice-time in all situations during Friday’s 3–1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Only Carter Rowney, who left the game after blocking a Victor Hedman shot in the second period, played less than Zadina on Friday. At five-on-five, Zadina primarily skated alongside Michael Rasmussen and Joe Veleno. With Zadina on the ice against the Lightning at five-on-five, the Red Wings controlled the vast majority of the shot attempts, expected goals, scoring chances, and shots on goal. The Red Wings generated just 41.04 percent of the five-on-five expected goals in Saturday’s game. With Zadina on the ice, that figure jumped to 82.47 percent.
