The Calgary Flames have reached out to the Boston Bruins with interest in defenseman Brandon Carlo, according to Daily Faceoff contributor Anthony Di Marco.

“Teams have yet to dive into details, but (Calgary) is interested,” Di Marco said on X Monday morning. “Not too many players on (Boston’s) roster not available for the right price.”
Carlo has one goal and eight assists for nine points while averaging 18:47 of ice time in 61 regular-season games with the Bruins this season. Now in his ninth NHL season, the 28-year-old defender has 29 goals and 80 assists for 109 points, averaging 19:48 in ice time during that span.
Carlo, taken in the second round by the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, has also appeared in 72 Stanley Cup Playoff games with Boston, scoring five goals and nine assists for 14 points while averaging 20:41 of ice time. He was a key contributor during the Bruins’ 2019 Stanley Cup Final run, where they lost to the St. Louis Blues in seven games, scoring two goals and two assists for four points, posting a plus-10 plus-minus and averaging 21:31 of ice time.
The Flames are 28-23-9 with 65 points, fourth in the Pacific Division and as of March 3, currently holding on to the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. The team has struggled recently, losing three straight and going 3-5-2- in their last 10 games.
As for the Bruins, they are 28-26-8 with 64 points, sixth in the Atlantic Division but only two points back of a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
