The Calgary Flames are set to play nine times on Monday nights during the 2025-26 regular season. A pair of those games will be broadcast as part of Amazon Prime’s Monday Night Hockey, as announced by the streaming service on Wednesday morning.

In an interesting schedule quirk, both of the Amazon games are on the road. The two broadcasts are Mar. 16, when the Flames visit the Detroit Red Wings, and Mar. 30, when they visit the Colorado Avalanche. The two games are, coincidentally, sandwiched around the Flames’ six game home stand.
The other seven Flames games on Mondays will be broadcast on Sportsnet:
As you’re likely aware, Sportsnet is the national broadcaster for the National Hockey League in Canada. But prior to the 2024-25 season, Sportsnet sub-licensed their Monday night national window to Amazon Prime, which allowed the streamer to get into the NHL space one night a week.
The Flames appeared five times on Amazon Prime’s Monday Night Hockey in 2024-25, with the broadcasts earning rave reviews from fans for their quality and willingness to do things a bit differently than Sportsnet. If we’re going to play devil’s advocate, though, let’s acknowledge that Amazon as a streaming service has much different constraints on them than Sportsnet does as a television broadcaster; for example, it’s just not feasible (for many reasons) for Sportsnet to broadcast pre-game warm-ups on one of their channels… but Amazon can, and doing so adds something unique to how they present the games. (And Amazon had the Barn Burner gang introduce one of the broadcasts, too.)
Sportsnet has yet to announce its national and regional TV schedules, but with Amazon handling two Flames contests we can expect to see the other 80 Flames regular season outings on Sportsnet channels.
The Flames begin their 2025-26 season on Oct. 8 when they face the Edmonton Oilers in Rogers Place.
