Florida Panthers Acquire Vinnie Hinostroza

The Florida Panthers and Minnesota Wild have made a deal that will send forward Vinnie Hinostroza to the Panthers for future considerations. After the trades the Wild have made, this opens up a spot in the lineup for some of the newly acquired pieces. Hinostroza this season in 48 games for Minnesota has ten points on three goals and seven assists. He’s a minus-eight with two game-winning goals. He returns to Florida, where he spent part of the 2020-21 season.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Hinostroza 169^th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. In four seasons with the Blackhawks, he appeared in 123 games, recording 51 points on 17 goals and 34 assists. He was a plus-five with a power-play goal and three game-winning goals. He then spent the next two seasons with the Coyotes, appearing in 140 games, recording 61 points on 21 goals and 40 assists. Hinostroza was a minus-three with three power-play goals and three game-winning goals. In nine games with Florida, he was held pointless and was a minus-two. Hinostroza then joined the Blackhawks, where in 17 games he had 12 points on four goals and eight assists. He was a plus-two.

He spent the next two seasons in Buffalo, where in 88 games he had 36 points on 15 goals and 21 assists. Hinostroza was a -12 with a power-play goal and three game-winning goals. In 2023-24, he played for the Penguins, appearing in 14 games, recording a goal and two assists; he was a minus-three. Hinostroza, in 2024-25 he played in 13 games for the Predators, recording two assists and being even in plus/minus. In 73 games with the Wild, he had 18 points on eight goals and ten assists. He was a minus-six with three power-play goals and three game-winning goals. In nine playoff games, he has two assists and is a minus-one.
