SUNRISE — The Florida Panthers were not about to get goalied against the Calgary Flames on Saturday.
Dan Vladar did try his best.
Florida controlled the game from start to finish and got a couple in the second to beat the Flames 3-0 for its third straight win and eighth in the past 10 games.
Vladar made 33 saves in the first two periods with the Panthers holding a 66-23 advantage in shot attempts.
A couple of close calls did not count, with video review being inconclusive on a save Vladar made on A.J. Greer and one that was deemed goalie interference on Carter Verhaeghe.
Jonah Gadjovich made it 1-0 early in the second on Florida’s 20th shot of the game. Calgary challenged for interference, but the goal stood.
Evan Rodrigues slipped one past Vladar with 36 seconds remaining in the period to give the Panthers a little breathing room.
Sergei Bobrovsky ended the night with 23 saves for his third shutout of the season and 14th with the Panthers to pass John Vanbiesbrouck for third on the franchise list.
Vladar made 39.
Tampa Bay, which shutout the Flames on Thursday, bring its eight-game winning streak to Sunrise on Monday.
