The Philadelphia Flyers issued a public apology Friday after an inappropriate on-air comment during Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
The team released a statement on X through its official account addressing the incident. The Flyers said the remark did not meet the standards or values of the organization.
"We are aware of the inappropriate comment made during last night's radio broadcast in the TV timeout of the Flyers-Sabres game," the Flyers wrote. "These remarks do not reflect the standards of conduct or values we expect from anyone associated with our organization.
"Effective immediately, the Flyers, along with our radio partners, 97.5 The Fanatic, have issued a two-game suspension while we address this matter with all parties involved. We take this matter very seriously, and sincerely apologize to our listeners, fans and all those affected by these comments."

The incident occurred during the radio broadcast TV timeout late in the third period. Play-by-play announcer Tim Saunders made a lewd and inappropriate comment on air. It was directed towards color analyst Todd Fedoruk.
As apparent in the broadcast, Saunders believed it had gone off the air at the time. However, the comment was picked up by the mic.
The apology came on the same night the Flyers lost 5-3 to Buffalo. The Sabres scored twice late in the second period to take control of the game. Tage Thompson and Noah Ostlund led the push, while Alex Lyon made 24 saves. Buffalo earned its fourth straight win.
Philadelphia received goals from Travis Konecny, Cam York, and Noah Cates. Samuel Ersson stopped 23 shots in the loss. Despite the setback, the Flyers remain competitive this season. They sit at 17-10-6 and hold a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division.
In their next game, Philadelphia will visit the New York Rangers on Saturday.
