The latest information indicates the Minnesota Wild are on the verge of parting ways with former 9th overall pick Marco Rossi despite scoring 60 points this season.

He may have recently scored a new career-best 60 points this season, but the latest indications point toward the Minnesota Wild parting ways with their former 9th overall pick from the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Wild forward Marco Rossi, a pending restricted free agent, could soon be on the move from the only NHL club that he's played with so far in his young career.

While speaking on the S&P Podcast, analyst Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects said that he gets the feeling the Wild are in no hurry to lock down Rossi to a long-term deal and would be fine moving on from him.

I don't think the Wild like Marco Rossi. I do not think that they....they clearly do not envision him as a long-term, top-6 center option for them. And they're a good team, right? They don't have an abundance of top-6 centers, it's not like have a ton of them floating around.
They don't give him time with Matt Boldy or (Kirill) Kaprizov They drop him to the 4th line...like, we heard 5x5.5 was their contract offer to him. For a player with his pedigree and the production he put up, other players not as good as him have gotten bigger contracts. That is just telling to me that management there in Minnesota isn't smitten on him.

Rossi scored 60 points (24G, 36A) in 82 games, but he was surprisingly demoted by coach John Hynes to the team's 4th line and saw his ice time slashed during their loss in the postseason to the Vegas Golden Knights.
