It wasn't a pretty game for the Minnesota Wild

But former Gophers hockey standout Logan Cooley had a pretty goal for the Utah Hockey Club in their 6-1 dismantling of the Wild Thursday night in Salt Lake City.

Cooley scored the final goal of the night with 4 minutes, 59 seconds remaining in the third period, deflecting a pass from Clayton Keller past Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

It was a two-point night for Cooley, who also assisted on Nick Schmaltz's goal 3 minutes, 47 seconds into the third period. Keller, meanwhile, had a five-point night with four assists and a third-period goal sandwiched between Cooley and Schmaltz's.

Keller assisted on the two power-play goals the Hockey Club (27-24-9) found in the first period. The first came from Barrett Hayton just 3 minutes, 59 seconds into the contest, and Dylan Guenther added another with 30 seconds remaining in the frame.

The Wild (34-21-4) got within a goal when Frederick Gaudreau scored with 3 minutes, 58 seconds remaining in the second period, but Sean Durzi got it back for Utah just 1 minute, 48 seconds later to push it back to a two-goal lead. Utah didn't look back.

The Hockey Club outshot the Wild 31-16. Fleury made 25 saves on the 35 shots.

Utah goalie Karel Vejmelka stopped 15 of the 16 shots he faced.

It'll be a quick turnaround for the Wild, who will look to bounce back Friday night when they visit the Colorado Avalanche for an 8 p.m. puck drop.
