Former Oilers defenseman Jeff Petry may have gotten the Detroit Red Wings in trouble by accidentally wearing the wrong jersey during a game.

Petry was spotted on the ice wearing a jersey made by Adidas, the NHL's jersey manufacturer from last season. The NHL is now using Fanatics as their jersey manufacturer and sponsor. According to NHL insider Greg Wyshynski, the Red Wings will receive a harsh chew-out for this mistake.

To fans, this is mostly just a funny mistake from the Red Wings locker room that went unnoticed before Petry stepped out, but to the sponsors that spend tens of millions to make sure their logo appears on TV, this is a major affront. Especially showing the jersey made by last year's manufacturer and a rival company is a big mistake.

The NHL's switch to Fanatics as their jersey manufacturer caused some significant concerns among fans and players due to the company's poor reputation, but so far, there haven't been any major problems with the jerseys on the ice. However, fans are still angered over the increase in jersey prices, and things like spelling mistakes on jerseys being all too common.
