The Chicago Blackhawks will get a glimpse into the future as forward Frank Nazar makes his NHL debut on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Nazar, who signed an entry-level contract with Chicago on Saturday, will center Joey Anderson and Jason Dickinson on the Blackhawks' presumed third line.
The 5-foot-10 forward joins the Blackhawks following a short but productive career at Michigan. Nazar scored 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists) in 41 games this season after an injury-shortened freshman campaign with the Wolverines.
The Blackhawks selected Nazar with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. With Connor Bedard now in tow and other high-upside prospects on the way, Chicago has to feel good about its center depth for years to come.
Nazar will have a chance to get acclimated to the NHL over the Blackhawks' final three games of the season. It begins Sunday against the Hurricanes, who are in town for a 5 PM puck drop. The game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
