Jim Biringer and David Calabretta are back on the Full Press Hockey Podcast with their latest NHL Rumors Weekly Segment as there is a lot of chatter picking up as Four Nations Approaches

NHL Rumors that are discussed in this episode are:

– The Calgary Flames remain in the playoff picture despite losing the baseball double to the St. Louis Blues. However, their general manager, Craig Conroy, believes that they will be on the hunt for a while. As of now, they remain status quo and will not look to move out players like Rasmus Andersson and Nazem Kadri. Conroy hopes to extend Andersson long-term.

– As Full Press Hockey has documented, the Boston Bruins need scoring. Not to mention, they need a number one center. They haven’t had one since Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Plus, there is no Jake DeBrusk and no goals. As RG Media has reported, the Bruins are talking to Vancouver about Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller as they look to create cap space to add.

– The New York Islanders continue to struggle on the ice. They have pieces teams want, like Brock Nelson, Kyle Palmieri, and Jean-Gabriel Pageau. However, as RG Media has reported, until General Manager Lou Lamoriello believes his team is out of the playoff picture, the Islanders will not be sellers even though they should be.

– The Montreal Canadiens are fighting for a wild card spot. Montreal is positioning itself to play meaningful games in March and April. With the Canadiens in contention, this could change the trade strategy to remain status quo and use their players as own rentals.

– The New Jersey Devils need depth at the center and a top goal scorer. New Jersey will be looking to keep defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic, but that means defenseman Simon Nemec could be on the way out. He is not happy with his situation, and as Full Press Hockey mentioned last week, if the Devils go after Evans or a big piece, would Nemec be part of the package?

Action is expected to pick up before the Four Nations Tournament, especially since everyone needs a center.
