The Gaudreau Family continue their work honoring the legacies of the late John and Matthew Gaudreau. They recently unveiled plans to help keep that mission going while making a major impact in the communities they serve.

First, there is a 5k Run/Walk planned for the end of May in Sewell, NJ. And then second, the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation has a new website.

You can get involved in both things thanks to the work the Gaudreau Family is doing.

Gaudreau Family 5K

The family will be hosting their first annual Gaudreau 5K Run/Walk & Family Fun Day. The event will take place on Saturday May 31 at Washington Lake Park in Sewell, NJ.

Even if you can’t be at the park in person, the family has opened a virtual option for anyone to participate in worldwide.

There are different events on the morning on May 31 with limited spots remaining. From 8 A.M. until 8:45 A.M., there will be a competitive, timed run. The cost to get in on site is $45 until April 30. The cost will go up after that.

Then from 8:45 A.M. until 10:00 A.M., there will be a non-competitive run/walk. The cost for that is also $45 with the price going up after April 30.

Then from 10:15 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., there is a 1-Mile Kid’s Dash for anyone 12 years of age or younger. The cost of entry here is $10 with the price going up after April 30.

For anyone who wants to participate virtually, they can do so by paying $40 by May 31st and completing the 5K and submitting their results afterwards. You would then be mailed both a medal and a finisher T-Shirt.

All proceeds here go towards the building of an adaptive playground at Archbishop Damiano School in Westville, NJ.

The reason this 5K was created was to honor the Gaudreau Family competitive spirit while creating a lasting impact for the students at Archbishop Damiano School.

In addition to the above, there will be lawn games, raffles, a silent auction, music, dance performances, face painting and much more. A few celebrity performances are planned as well.

For more information on the event or to sign up for the 5K, you can visit their website at this link. Donations for the playground build are also being accepted at the school’s website, which you can access here.

John & Matthew Gaudreau Foundation Website

The other piece of news recently announced was the creation of a new website for the John & Matthew Gaudreau Foundation. The Co-Presidents of the Foundation Madeline & Meredith Gaudreau unveiled the new website to honor the legacies of the brothers.

The website is www.johnandmatty.org. As part of their mission statement, the Foundation will support projects and initiatives that align with the values and passions that they championed during their lives. This includes youth hockey, supporting families that faced tragedy as well as helping families affected by drunk driving.

At the heart of this is the Foundation’s desire to create both a safer and more inclusive community. All donations, no matter how big or small, will go towards the above initiatives.

There will also be other ways to support the work of the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation soon.

At this point, you can sign up for updates from the Foundation right on the website so you can be the first to know about any news that comes down.

As their messages states, they just want to make the brothers proud.

“On behalf of our families, we thank you again so much for helping us honor John and Matty’s legacies amidst so much heartbreak and tragedy. We hope to make them proud.”

The work here is just the beginning. The impact of this is expected to be far reaching given what the brothers meant to so many. Now you have the chance to be a part of honoring the brother’s legacies in the months and years to come.
