The Vegas Golden Knights continued their winning ways against the San Jose Sharks with a 4-2 victory at SAP Center on Tuesday.
The Golden Knights are 27-2-5 in 37 meetings with the Sharks.
Mark Stone had a goal and an assist. Zach Whitecloud, Victor Olofsson and Tomáš Hertl also scored for Vegas (28-9-3).
Ilya Samsonov made 20 saves.
The Vegas defensemen have been chipping in a big way over the past month. The game against the Sharks was no different.
Whitecloud scored his third goal of the season, while Shea Theodore added two assists.
Vegas ranks fifth in the league in defensemen scoring. The blue line has accounted for 25 percent of the points scored by the Golden Knights all season.
It wasn’t the cleanest night for the penalty kill, as the Sharks scored both of their goals on the man advantage.
It’s a small blip for a penalty kill unit that has been spectacular during this hot stretch.
Luckily for Vegas, they managed to get the eventual game-winner on the power play when Olofsson scored at 1:10 of the third period.
Stone skated in his 300th career game and scored his 100th career goal as a member of the Golden Knights.
Samsonov earned his sixth straight win, which is the longest by a Vegas goalie since Logan Thompson did the same feat during the 2022-23 season.
Hertl also scored his first goal in SAP Center as a member of the Golden Knights.
