The Vegas Golden Knights announced on Monday that they have signed goaltending prospect Pavel Moysevich to a three-year, entry-level contract.

According to PuckPedia, the contract carries a salary cap hit of $980,000 at the NHL level and a salary of $85,000 in the minor leagues.

Moysevich, who was selected by Vegas with the No. 83 overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NHL Draft, is an intriguing prospect with a big frame at six-foot-seven that will make him an imposing presence in the crease.

According to Daily Faceoff Associate Editor and Prospect Analyst Steven Ellis, Moysevich ranks as the seventh-best prospect in the Vegas pipeline, offering high-level upside that few prospects the Golden Knights have can match.

“Moysevich was good in the VHL, where he’s expected to return, but then struggled in the Russian junior playoffs,” Ellis wrote. “He takes up a ton of space, and he’s great at cutting down on angles, If he can add a bit more speed to his footwork, he’ll be fine.

The left-catching goalie has made just 10 appearances in Russia this season, all with SKA-VMF St. Petersburg of the VHL. In his outings, he has posted a 5-3-0 record to go with a .917 save percentage and 2.41 goals against average.

Moysevich made 18 appearances with SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL a year ago, putting up a .898 SV% and 3.32 GAA. In just five games in the VHL in 2024-25, he fared much better with a .926 SV% and 2.00 GAA.

Goaltending is a major area of need in the Vegas organization currently, as Adin Hill, Akira Schmid and Carter Hart have all struggled to varying degrees.

The front office has emphasized the position in the draft, as Carl Lindbom and Cameron Whitehead, both 22 years of age, are among the team’s top prospects and are already signed to their entry-level contracts.
