
The 10 finalists for the 2026 Mr. Hockey Award were announced by the Minnesota All Sports Alliance on Friday. The three finalists for the 2026 Frank Brimsek Award, which recognizes the state's top goaltender, were also announced.
Here are the 10 nominees for the Mr. Hockey Award:
The Mr. Hockey Award is given annually to the most outstanding senior high school boys hockey player in the state. The winner is selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts, junior scouts and coaches, along with media members from around the state.
All 10 players are in action in their respective section semifinals as they look to qualify for the state boys hockey tournament in March. Here are the matchups:
The previous 10 winners of the Mr. Hockey Award are Mason Kraft (2025), Hagen Burrows (2024), Jayson Shaugabay (2023), Max Strand (2022), Jack Peart (2021), Blake Biondi (2020), Bryce Brodzinski (2019), Sammy Walker (2018), Casey Mittelstadt (2017) and Riley Tufte (2016).
The three nominees for the Frank Brimsek Award are:
Bacon is in action when Rogers takes on Wayzata in the Class 2A, Section 6 semifinal on Saturday. Francisco will aim to help Hermantown reach the Class 1A, Section 7 final when it takes on Cloquet/Esko/Carlton on Saturday. Meanwhile, Jerdee will look to help Minnetonka get past Eden Prairie in the Class 2A, Section 2 semifinal on Saturday.
The previous 10 winners of the Frank Brimsek Award are Leo Gabriel (2025), Kam Hendrickson (2024), Hampton Slukynsky (2023), Ben Dardis (2022), Jack Wieneke (2021), Hudson Hodges (2020), Charlie Glockner (2019), Atticus Kelly (2018), Jake Begley (2017) and Nick Althaus (2016).
The winners will be announced at the 42nd annual Mr. Hockey Awards Banquet on Sunday, March 8, at the St. Paul RiverCentre.
