The Leafs have a date with the Calgary Flames for St. Patrick's Day tonight, and Craig Berube has made an very important decision, settling on his starting goalie.
After Anthony Stolarz lost his second game in a row on Saturday through no fault of his own, Craig Berube has opted to switch things up for Monday's game against the Calgary Flames.
Joseph Woll, who has not played since last Monday against the Utah Hockey Club, will look to help get the Leafs back in the win column after losing their fifth game out of their last six.
At the beginning of March, Berube was hopeful that one of the Leafs' netminders would take advantage of opportunities given to them and give him a clear-cut number one heading into the playoffs.
So far, neither has been able to do so. Woll has won 3 of his last 4 games, but has posted a save percentage worse than .910 in three of those four starts, including a .571 save percentage against Vegas.
After a week off to reset, the Leafs are hopeful that Woll can get back to the level he was playing at earlier in the season and propel them back to within 2 points of the Florida Panthers for top spot in the Atlantic Division and give them a little more breathing room from the Ottawa Senators, who are quickly closing the gap.
