Islanders agree to contracts with two prospects
Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Islanders have reached contract agreements with forward prospects Daylan Kuefler and Kyle MacLean.

Kueffler, 21, was the team’s sixth-round draft pick last year and has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the club.

Playing for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the last four seasons, Kuefler scored 77 goals with 144 points throughout his junior career.

MacLean played 67 games for the Bridgeport Islanders last season and is back with the organization on a one-year, two-way contract. The Islanders signed the 24-year-old left winger as an undrafted free agent in 2020, and he has now spent the last three seasons in Bridgeport,  scoring a combined 23 goals and 59 points in 157 games.
