Ivan Demidov has no fractures

Yesterday, the Canadiens had a good game, winning 5-0. One of the negative points of yesterday’s game was Nick Cousins’ stick hit on Ivan Demidov. Today, we were waiting for news on the Russian’s state of health. He was reportedly seen on the golf course and could practice tomorrow. In the last few minutes, we learned via TVA Sports that Demidov does not have a fracture. This is encouraging news with a week to go before the start of the season, and

It was a rather unsightly gesture by Cousins, who was in fact punished by the NHL earlier today. On Saturday, the Russian is not expected to play, 100% or not. He has nothing left to prove, and I think sending him into the fray would be unwise…

Especially considering that the Sens have recalled several players from their club-school. It’s likely to be a fairly flat game between two teams of support players. This will be Montreal’s last preparatory game before the season begins on October 8 in Toronto. Now that the updates on Noah Dobson and Demidov ‘s health are positive, we’re hoping the same for Kaiden Guhle and David Reinbacher.
