Jack Roslovic Free Agent Rumors Take Wild Turn

As veteran forward Jack Roslovic continues to look around the NHL at his options for next season, things have slowed down considerably. The offseason has come to a somewhat of a halt, with many teams already having rosters set for the new season.

Roslovic remains one of the better names on the free agent market, and he could make a difference next season. The veteran is coming off a solid year with the Carolina Hurricanes, which saw him put up 22 goals and 17 assists.

Many have wondered where he would end up, with some shutting down a return to Carolina. But according to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Hurricanes haven't closed the door on retaining Roslovic this offseason.

As currently constructed, the Hurricanes may not have room for the veteran, but if the front office were to tweak the roster, they could potentially bring him back.

The free agency of Roslovic has been a strange one, especially considering that he is still available this late in the offseason. Some have wondered if he has been waiting for a certain team to open things up, and the Hurricanes may be the place.

Many have seen the Toronto Maple Leafs as a realistic landing spot for the veteran, but Toronto has its own share of salary cap issues. Roslovic could return to the Hurricanes to give them even more firepower for next season.

Carolina has impressively reshaped the roster this offseason, putting them closer to potentially winning the Stanley Cup. If they were to bring back Roslovic as well, it could make them the clear favorites in the Eastern Conference.
