Over the past few days, the AHL took a few days off for its All-Star festivities. We were treated to the skills competition on Tuesday night, as well as the All-Star tournament yesterday.
Laurent Dauphin, Adam Engström, and Jacob Fowler represented the Rocket at the event. However, a few hours before the skills competition, it was announced that Fowler was injured and would not be participating in the events.
He attended and was in uniform, but did not compete.
But today, the Rocket announced that it had recalled goaltender Hunter Jones from Trois-Rivières.
And given that we learned 48 hours ago that Fowler is injured, there are questions to be asked.

It should also be noted that Kaapo Kahkönen has been nursing an injury for several weeks. As a result, Fowler made seven starts in 15 days in front of the Rocket’s net before the break.
So, there is a world in which Jones is not being recalled specifically to compensate for the loss of Fowler, but rather to give the club another option while its goalies are not 100%.
The Rocket will be back in action tomorrow night, but they will also play on Saturday afternoon. The club also has a game scheduled for Monday afternoon, which means they will have a stretch of three games in four days.
We’ll see if Fowler will be able to play during that stretch, and more importantly, if he’ll be able to play tomorrow. Because we all agree that in an ideal world, the Rocket would be able to count on its #1 goalie.
– Speaking of the Rocket, everything indicates that they will be at their posts tomorrow.
Laurent Dauphin and Adam Engström will not participate in today’s practice (day off due to the All-Star Classic).
