Jeremy Brodeur is the son of legendary New Jersey Devils goaltender, Martin Brodeur, and on Monday, he got to start in a preseason game against the New York Rangers.

There was a whole lot of fanfare around this given the fact that Marty is a legend who is beloved by Devils fans. Moreover, the Rangers are one of their most heated rivals. Seeing Brodeur on the back of a Devils jersey again was a thrilling experience for the fans. As it turns out, Jeremy had a solid game and made some big saves.

In the two videos below, you can see Brodeur's two biggest saves of the evening. One of which was shutting down the five-hole on a breakaway. He also made an amazing save on a cross-crease play. In the end, the Devils won the game by a score of 3-1.

Brodeur has been bouncing between the ECHL and the AHL for years at this point. An NHL opportunity in the regular season may never come. However, he has remained solid in his roles across the minor leagues. There is no doubt that he made his father proud with last night's performance. Hopefully, he is able to get a real shot at playing in the Show this season. It would make for an absolutely fantastic story and it would also induce a whole lot of nostalgia for the hardcore Devils fans out there.
