Jets Sign Adam Lowry to 5-Year Contract Extension

Lowry, now in his 12th NHL season and second as Jets captain, continues to anchor Winnipeg with strong two-way play. After setting career highs in 2024-25 and helping the Jets win their first Presidents’ Trophy, he’s opened this season with three points in seven games.

He’s getting a solid bump from his $3.25M AAV, securing another long-term deal in the process. Even though his scoring lines up more with a third-liner, his overall impact makes this contract a relatively safe deal. His age is the one factor that makes the term somewhat questionable. Still, given his intangibles and role, he likely could’ve matched or exceeded a $5M AAV if he hit the open market. TSN’s Darren Dreger writes, “Superb value for a key piece on and off the ice for the Jets.”

The Jets noted: “Since Lowry became team captain on Sept. 12/23, Winnipeg has compiled an NHL-best 120 wins and 250 points, while posting the league’s lowest goals against per game played (2.40).”

Lowry has 276 career points, strong playoff production, a Selke voting track record, and a 2022 Worlds silver medal.
