The Toronto Maple Leafs just lost a heartbreaking Game 7, and now former captain John Tavares opens up after what may have been his final game in Toronto.

Game 7 against the Florida Panthers was do or die for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and unfortunately after eight straight years of heartbreak, their fans are going home upset from a post-season game once again.

Things got out of hand for Toronto in the second period when Florida raced out to a 3-0 lead, and unfortunately the team just didn't have any fight in them, as they would lose their second game in this series by a score of 6-1 to be sent home early.

Unfortunately, this leads them into a summer with plenty of questions to answer, with John Tavares one of the names on this team hitting free agency, with some not expecting the former captain to return.

Whether he does or not, in the present he addressed the tough situation that saw the team be sent packing by Florida again, and asked for his comments on the game, he kept it very simple:

'That's not good enough.'

For someone like Tavares that has been around the Maple Leafs for all of their regular season success but their post-season struggles, it's easy to see why he's so emotional, and while some though he would return to his hometown team in free agency in the summer, this result could certainly change things.

Ultimately though, this was always going to be a tough series from Toronto, and while expectations were high, they simply weren't good enough against the defending Champions, and now GM Brad Treliving and President Brendan Shanahan head into the off-season with many questions to answer about this team.
