Jonathan Drouin Absent From Avalanche Practice

The Avalanche took the ice at Family Sports on Friday for their first practice since an opening night 8-4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. While all eight defensemen and both goalies are accounting for, forward Jonathan Drouin is absent from the skate.

Drouin was hunched over in pain while skating to the bench late in the third period on Wednesday.

Without him, Colorado is skating with just 11 forwards at practice. Drouin eventually appeared, watching practice while sitting on the balcony alongside Andrew Cogliano.

We’ll get an update from Jared Bednar momentarily.

Without Drouin, the Avs skated with the below line combinations:

Kovalenko – MacKinnon – Rantanen
Colton – Mittelstadt – Ritchie
Wood – Kelly – O’Connor
Kiviranta – Ivan

Toews – Makar
Girard – Manson
de Haan – Malinski
Ludvig – Kylington
