Joseph Woll Leaves Game Against Hurricanes

The Toronto Maple Leafs currently lead the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 in tonight’s game. As the team came out for the third period they were missing their starting goalie. Joseph Woll left tonight’s game with a lower-body injury. Dennis Hildeby replaced Woll for the Maple Leafs. Toronto is already without goalie Anthony Stolarz who has an upper-body injury and has no timetable for his return. Woll stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced today. This season, entering tonight, since returning to the Maple Leafs, he is 3-3-1 with a 2.53 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. He missed the start of the season due to personal reasons. He had a conditioning stint with the Marlies in the AHL, where in two games he went 0-1-1 with a 3.72 goals-against average and an .885 save percentage.

Joseph Woll

The Maple Leafs drafted Woll 62nd overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. In 85 career games for Toronto over five seasons he is 51-30-3 with a .911 save percentage, a 2.73 goals-against average, and two shutouts. Last season Woll made 42 appearances with 41 coming as starts going 27-14-1 with a .909 save percentage, a 2.73 goals-against average, and a shutout.
