Kirill Kaprizov made history Tuesday night, scoring his 220th career regular-season goal and passing Marian Gaborik for the most in Minnesota Wild franchise history.

The Russian winger achieved the feat in the third period of their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning when he scored on an empty net, giving him the all-time record in just his sixth season with the club.

The Wild went on to win 5-1.

Kaprizov now has 34 goals and 40 assists for 74 points, which leads the team in both assists and points.

Through six NHL seasons, the 28-year-old Kaprizov has 220 goals and 241 assists for 461 points in 381 career regular-season games.

Kaprizov has twice broken the 90-point mark, and in 2021-22 set career highs with 47 goals and 61 assists for 108 points, finishing fifth in the league in both goals and points

Kaprizov was taken by the Wild in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the next five seasons in Russia’s KHL, helping CSKA Moscow win a Gagarin Cup in 2019. In 293 career KHL games, Kaprizov had 113 goals and 117 assists for 230 points.

The Wild are 36-16-10 with 82 points, third in the Central Division and Western Conference, and fifth in the NHL.

Matt Boldy leads the team with 35 goals, and his 34 assists and 69 points rank second in Minnesota.

Defenseman Quinn Hughes, acquired by the Wild from the Vancouver Canucks last December, has four goals and 34 assists in 30 games with Minnesota, giving him a total of six goals and 55 assists for 61 points on the season.
