LA Kings Prospect Update – Week 10/5

A week has passed, which means it’s time for our weekly LA Kings prospect update . Before we get to the prospect of the week, I want to give a quick shoutout to former Kings prospect Liam Greentree. Greentree, 20, scored his first professional goal Saturday in the Hartford Wolf Pack’s (AHL) 7-1 defeat to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Greentree would score again the following day in another Hartford loss. He has four points in five AHL games with Hartford.

The prospect who stood out in this week’s update is forward Blake Zielinski. Zielinski, 18, had a strong start to his collegiate career at Providence College in his first two games. Zielinski scored two goals and added a helper as Providence College won both of its games this past weekend.

Zielinski played on the second line at right wing and has good hands, a strong shot, and a 200-foot game. Known for his scoring, he scored 25 goals for the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL last season and carried that trait into the NCAA this past weekend.
