A week has passed, and it’s time for another LA Kings prospect update. For the second straight week, a goalie highlighted the prospect update. This week, it was Hampton Slukynsky. Slukysnky appeared in one game for Western Michigan University (WMU), stopping 32 of 33 shots to help backstop the Broncos to a 4-1 victory over Minnesota Duluth. It was the second straight start that Slukynsky allowed only one goal.

In the first ten games, WMU has treated Slukynsky and Camron Rowe as a 1A/1B tandem. In five games, Slukysnky has a record of 3-1-1 with a 1.58 goals against average and a .949 save percentage, allowing less than two goals in three starts. The 19-year-old netminder ranks first in save percentage and seventh in goals against average among NCAA goalies. Those numbers indicate there have been no issues for Slukysnky transitioning to the collegiate level, so far.
