2025-26 season

Joel Armia was brought in on a two-year deal in the 2025 offseason to bring value to the fourth line and did just that and more early on to start his Kings tenure. Armia didn’t record a goal until his ninth game of the season on October 25th against the Nashville Predators.

Despite some of his advanced metrics, such as CF%, HDCF%, and xGF%, at 5v5, he ranked in the bottom five on the team, per Natural Stat Trick, yet he still provided value in the bottom six and on the penalty kill. Armia’s penalty killing prowess was one of the notable areas of his game when he signed with the Kings, and it lived up to its billing. Three of his first five goals came shorthanded, earning him the nickname “Goal Armia.”
