John Parker-Jones was signed to a one-year AHL contract by the Ontario Reign for the sole purpose of providing depth. Parker-Jones, 25, spent almost the entire season exclusively in Greenville with the Swamp Rabbits and tallied 27 points (10 G, 17 A) and 76 penalty minutes in 50 games. He suited up in only one game with the Reign and was a -1 rating with no points. Having played both forward and defense in his career, he played on the fourth line as a winger in his lone game with the Reign.

Parker-Jones re-signed with the Reign on another one-year AHL contract. With Ontario projected to have a plethora of forwards and defensemen (some need to clear waivers), he is almost certainly going to find his way to Greenville to start the year. His role won’t change as he will once again be AHL depth.
