Kenny Connors

Birthplace: Glen Mills, Pennsylvania

Height: 6’2

Weight: 207 lbs

Position: Center

Draft: 4th round, 103rd overall, 2022 NHL Entry Draft

2024-25 season

Kenny Connors concluded his junior season at UMass (NCAA) with 30 points (10 G, 20 A) in 40 games. Connors played mostly as the team’s 3C nd won 51.1% of his faceoffs, but also saw time on the wing. Connors’ 40 games played, 10 goals, 20 assists, and 30 points were all season-highs in his three years playing collegiate hockey. Known for his 200-foot game, Connors was deployed at 5v5, 6v5 (extra attacker), when protecting a lead, on power plays, and during penalty kills for UMass.

Connors also set a program record for scoring in six straight games (1/24-2/14) and also played in his 100th collegiate game on February 21st. His last game with UMass came in a 2-1 loss in the Frozen Four tournament to the eventual NCAA champions, Western Michigan University. He signed his entry-level contract with the Kings on April 2nd, four days after UMass’ season ended. He didn’t play a game with the Ontario Reign due to an injury.

2025-26 outlook

Connors’ entry-level contract will begin this year and run through the 206-27 season. He is expected to play with the Reign, and with the team projected to have plenty of centers on the roster, it will be interesting to see where new head coach Andrew Lord has Connors in the lineup and if he’ll play every day. Nevertheless, the Reign will play a part in Connors’ everyday development of becoming an NHL player, like they will for many incoming prospects this year.
