Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has struggled to score in the post-season, and now, Craig Berube's comments have done little to ease the minds of fans.

Despite the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs are up 2-1 against the Florida Panthers in their second-round matchup of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Maple Leafs and their fans are cautious of getting their hopes too high.

One of the reasons for caution is the play of captain Auston Matthews, who has played a solid all around game thus far in the post-season, but unfortunately, his biggest strength has been a weakness through two series thus far.

One person that isn't worried about that however is coach Craig Berube, who reiterated his faith in Matthews while noting that he's not too worried about his lack of scoring thus far.

Listen, he is a great scorer. We all know that. I am not too worried about it. It is what it is. Yeah, he needs to hit the net. He is trying to hit the net. He is not trying to miss the net. He is trying to hit it. I am not going to elaborate on it too much.

This has some Maple Leafs fans worried, as the belief is that the coach should be riding him harder to turn this around, but at this time of year, all Matthews can do is keep trying and eventually, things will turn around.

After struggling to take a 3-0 lead in the series, Game 4 could be the defining game for Toronto in this series against Florida, and with the chance of the Panthers turning momentum around, the Leafs will rely on their captain to lead them, but if he can't, those criticism of his goal scoring will continue to grow louder and louder.
