The Detroit Red Wings are looking to sweep their home-and-home series with the Toronto Maple Leafs . In the second period, their young forward Lucas Raymond left the game and went down the tunnel. Raymond was hit along the boards by Toronto defenseman Chris Tanev. Raymond could be seen in pain on the bench with what looked like a shoulder injury. It was confirmed he would not return for the third period with an upper-body injury.

Mason Appleton is up playing on the top line with Dylan Larkin and Emmitt Finnie. J.T. Compher replaced Raymond on the power-play unit. Raymond scored two goals in the Red Wings’ 6-3 win over Toronto on Saturday; one of those goals was his 100 th career goal. He is also the team leader in goals to start the season. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious and he can play on Wednesday when the Red Wings return home to face the Florida Panthers.
