Maple Leafs Reveal Massive Injury Update on Anthony Stolarz For Game 2

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to take a 2-0 series lead over the Florida Panthers tonight. However, they will be doing so without starting goalie Anthony Stolarz.

Stolarz has been ruled out for Game 2 following a scary injury that he suffered in Game 1. The goalie had a collision with Panthers forward Sam Bennett and ended up being stretchered off the ice.

There had been some hope that Stolarz could suit up for Game 2, but it seems that Toronto wants to play things safe here. Backup goalie Joseph Woll will take his place in the net as the Maple Leafs look to take control of this series.

When asked about how he was doing, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube said that he was recovering, but there was no timeline for a return.

"He's fine, he's recovering."

The Maple Leafs will be looking to hold down the fort at home once again. They were able to survive in Game 1, but the Panthers could come out with a sense of desperation in Game 2.

Florida is the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, so they understand what it takes to win these crucial games. The last thing that the Panthers want to do is go back home down 0-2, so they will need to come out with more energy in this contest.

With Stolarz missing the game, it could open the door for Florida just a bit. Woll was good in Game 1, but being the starter is an entirely different mindset for a goalie to have.
