A big update came from Jets practice today, as Mark Scheifele, Josh Morrissey, and Logan Stanley were spotted sporting regular contact jerseys on the ice.

The Winnipeg Jets are preparing to start their second-round playoff series against the Dallas Stars tonight, but they do so with ongoing questions about the availability of a few of their key players.

Defensemen Josh Morrissey and Logan Stanley, along with top-line centre Mark Scheifele, are all facing injury question marks that could impact the team's Game 1 roster.

After taking the ice in non-contact jerseys just a day earlier, all three players were on the ice this morning in full-contact jerseys, a potential indication of progress in each of their recoveries.

Head coach Scott Arniel labeled each as 'day-to-day' and a game-time decision. Morrissey exited early in the Jets' series-winning Game 7 victory over the St. Louis Blues, but the injury's nature has not been disclosed.

Although there are no specifics, the fact that he participated in full practice is a good sign that it may not be a long-term setback. Stanley and Scheifele also missed Game 7, but appear to be nearing a return.

Based on the latest line combinations at morning skate, Morrissey and Stanley do not appear likely to suit up tonight, as they were slotted as extras.

Scheifele appears most likely out of all three players to be in tonight

Scheifele , however, skated on the top line with Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi, indicating he's nearing a return. Scheifele had a strong first-round showing with two goals and six points, all at home.

His return would be a welcome offensive boost, especially with the power play, as the Jets look to get off to a good start in this crucial series.
