Head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, held a news conference from the Bell Centre on Tuesday, which included some special guests.
He obviously talked about the lineup for Tuesday's game and the great opportunity given to Owen Beck by being paired with Patrik Laine and Alex Newhook on the second line.
He also discussed Jayden Struble's more uncertain role over the past few weeks, his expectations for the end of the 2024-25 NHL season and several other topics. However, it was a small gesture he made at the beginning of the news conference that caught everyone's attention (for all the right reasons).
Martin St-Louis interrupted Martin McGuire to acknowledge the top QMJHL prospects for the upcoming draft, who were present in the room
A very classy gesture from the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens.
It's rare to see something like this, and it's very unusual, but it speaks volumes about the respect and consideration Martin St-Louis has for young players.
Hats off!
He even took the time to speak with them in more depth after the news conference, meet them and take a photo with them. On a game day, no less.
These young players will likely remember this moment for a long time. Hats off to the Montreal Canadiens organization, and hats off to Martin St-Louis for this gesture.
Who knows? There might be a future Montreal Canadiens or Laval Rocket player among the faces who posed alongside MSL Tuesday morning.
