After struggling early in the season, it appears Tristan Jarry may be winning back the starting role as he starts between the pipes for Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have started to build some impressive momentum as of late, winning three straight games coming into their Metropolitan Division showdown with the New Jersey Devils.
After struggling so much earlier in the year that he was waived by the team, Tristan Jarry appears to have turned things around in net for the Penguins, as he's been the starter for all three of those games in wins over Minnesota, Vegas and St. Louis, revealing that the teammates have had his back throughout his struggles.
In that time, the veteran has stopped 97 of the 103 shots he's seen for a highly impressive .942 save percentage, although his save percentage on the year remains under .900 due to the poor start he had.
However, Mike Sullivan has now rewarded the 29-year old, announcing that he'll be in net when they take on the New Jersey Devils at home on Saturday night.
Unfortunately, the team right now may have fallen too far out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs race to be in contention, but if Jarry and the rest of this team can show what they're made of down the stretch, it will bode well for the off-season where Kyle Dubas and the front office have some big decisions to make.
Ultimately, Jarry's future in Pittsburgh may already be sealed, with speculation the team could look to trade or buy him out in the summer, but if he continues to play like this down the stretch, it will give the front office plenty to think about for the future of the goaltending in Pittsburgh.
