The Wild are sending forwards Marco Rossi, Liam Ohgren, defenseman Zeev Buium, and a first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft to the Canucks. Hughes has been a name to watch over the last few weeks, and the Wild win the sweepstakes.
Hughes, this season in 26 games, has 23 points on two goals and 21 assists. He’s a minus-ten with two power-play goals. The Canucks drafted him seventh overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. In 459 career games, he has 432 points on 61 goals and 371 assists. He’s a +21 with 16 power-play goals and eight game-winning goals.
Rossi has been out with a lower-body injury, but he could return as early as next week. In 17 games this season, he has 13 points on four goals and nine assists; he’s a minus-six. The Wild drafted him ninth overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In 202 career games, all with Minnesota, he has 114 points on 49 goals and 65 assists. He’s a -15 with nine power-play goals and five game-winning goals.
Ohgren, in 18 games, has yet to record a point this season. He was drafted 19th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. In 46 career NHL games, he has seven points on three goals and four assists. He’s a minus-nine with two game-winning goals.
Buium, in 31 games this season, has 14 points on three goals and 11 assists. He’s a minus-nine with two power-play goals. The Wild drafted him 12th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
