Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) expected to miss 3-4 week

The Minnesota Wild announced Thursday that Kirill Kaprizov is expected to miss the next three to four weeks while recovering from a lower-body injury. The Wild called up Sammy Walker from the Iowa Wild to help pad out the roster with Kaprizov on the shelf.

Kaprizov was injured in the Wednesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets. On the play in question, he was working the puck in the Jets’ zone when Winnipeg defenseman Logan Stanley sat him down to try to take control of the action.

As the big defender pushed his 228 pounds on Kaprizov, the Wild star fell in an awkward stretch.

Kaprizov has been a superstar for Minnesota over the last three years and currently leads the team with 74 points (39 goals) through 65 games played this season.

The Wild sit in second place in the Central Division, tied in points with the first-place Dallas Stars. According to MoneyPuck.com, they have a 96.7% chance of making the playoffs, though it should be noted that those odds were put out prior to Kaprizov's injury.

In his NHL career, Kaprizov has played in 201 games, scoring 113 goals and 233 total points in that span.
