After months of recovery and quiet progress, Dallas Stars star defenceman Miro Heiskanen has confirmed what fans were hoping to hear, he's back to full strength and preparing for a massive season ahead, both in the NHL and on the Olympic stage.

In an interview with NHL.com, Heiskanen said he's feeling better than ever following the knee surgery that sidelined him last February.

"I'm 100 percent back to normal after the surgery. I've been able to practice all summer as usual. The knee got some rest after last season, and now I can do everything 100 percent."

Heiskanen injured the knee after a collision with Mark Stone of the Vegas Golden Knights, forcing him to miss 32 regular season games and the first 10 playoff contests.

He returned in the second round against Winnipeg, tallying four points in eight postseason games before Dallas was eliminated by Edmonton.

In the regular season, he posted five goals and 25 points in 50 games.

Now, fully recovered, Heiskanen has his sights set on another challenge, representing Finland at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

He was one of the first six players named to Finland's roster, joining fellow Stars Mikko Rantanen and Esa Lindell, along with Aleksander Barkov, Juuse Saros, and Sebastian Aho.

At Finland's Olympic orientation camp earlier this month, Heiskanen said he's already embracing the moment.

"It was a great event.I know what to expect now. The last Olympics helped. Even without NHL players, it was a great experience."

I think if Heiskanen stays healthy, he'll not only anchor Finland's blue line but could return to Norris Trophy form with the Stars too.

Both Dallas and Team Finland are counting on it.
