Monday Night College Hoops-NHL Parlay

March Madness is right around the corner and the race for the postseason in the NHL is heating up. We know it's been a while since we included both sports — hockey and college hoops — in one of our parlays, but that doesn't mean it's not worth betting.

The New York Rangers have dominated the month of February, and UC-Irvine's opponent, Cal Poly, has dropped 15 straight games. Yes, you read that right, 15 consecutive games. And when you take both on the moneyline, you get -109 odds. That's too good to pass up, which is why we're all-in on this parlay to kick off the week.

Cal Poly's season was going OK, but that quickly changed once conference play started. The Mustangs are dead last in the Big West at 1-15 and have yet to win a game in 2023. Yeah, not good. Especially when you look up and see who's at the top of the Big West standings ... UC-Irvine. Talk about bad timing.

The Anteaters are favored by 10 points, and there's a really good chance they cover, but just to be safe, we're only going to take them on the moneyline. UC-Irvine beat Cal Poly by just a point the last time they met, and even though the Anteaters have won four straight and six of their last seven, they've been in a lot of close games as of late. UC-Irvine beat UC-Davis by just two points on Saturday, and had to rally from a halftime deficit on Wednesday to take care of business against UC-Santa Barbara. Don’t be entirely shocked if this another ugly win for UC-Irvine, but still, a win is a win on the moneyline, no matter how pretty it is.

As for the final leg of our parlay, go with the Rangers over the Jets. New York is 6-1 in February and have won five straight home games. Meanwhile Winnipeg is coming off a back-to-back after playing New Jersey on the road on Sunday. So, not only do the Jets have the whole two games in two nights things going against them, they've also got to travel overnight.

We're well aware it's a short trip, but still, the Jets have to travel, and the Rangers don’t. That’s a big advantage for New York. We see this game being tied going into the third, and ultimately, the hotter of the two teams, the Rangers, pulling away late.
