Montreal Canadiens' Josh Anderson Announces Life-Changing News

Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson is back in the lineup today after he had to step away for a life-changing reason.

Canadiens veteran Josh Anderson was out of the lineup yesterday for the first half of a back-to-back as his teammates took on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Luckily, Montreal was able to secure the win without him, further increasing their chances of making the playoffs this year.

Tonight, Anderson is back in the lineup for another critical game against the Nashville Predators as the team tries to solidify their hold on the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The reason why Anderson missed yesterday's game has now been revealed and it is a rather heartwarming one for the 30-year-old.

Anderson and his wife Paola welcomed their child to the world yesterday.

Anderson is in his 5th season with the Habs and has 14 goals and 25 points on the season.

He is up to 80 goals and 133 points in 343 career games with the club and 145 goals and 248 points overall in his career.

He last made it to the playoffs with Montreal during their heroic run to the Cup finals in 2021.

With any luck, he will be joined by Canadiens top prospect Ivan Demidov for the upcoming playoffs, assuming the team can sign him.

That may have become a little more likely today after SKA St. Petersburg head coach Roman Rotenberg may have alienated the 19-year-old by commenting that he would be better off staying in the KHL despite getting inconsistent playing time.

Should Demidov sign and join the Canadiens who knows how big of an impact he could have on the club right away.

Maybe he could even elevate the club to a series victory in the first round. But first things first, he needs an entry-level contract.

Stay tuned to see if he gets one before the end of the regular season.
