The Montreal Canadiens have built great momentum as of late, and now, Brendan Gallagher has added to the good news with a massive announcement.

This season has been an up-and-down one for the Montreal Canadiens, but after an overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres, they've now won five straight games as they look to get back into the Stanley Cup playoff race.

The Canadiens locker room had an additional reason to celebrate, as veteran forward Brendan Gallagher revealed some incredible news after the game.

"I'm a dad now. It's been a week, so it's still new. Obviously, a little less sleep than I'm used to, but it's been awesome," Gallagher said, per Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette.

He would go on to add that his sleep has not been the same since he became a dad, but given what every parent goes through, he's as happy as he could be. "We're learning as we go, but so far, we love every second of it," he continued.

The 32-year-old Edmonton native has spent his entire career in Montreal dating back to his debut in 2012, and while the success on the ice hasn't quite been there during that stretch, this is incredible news for the veteran.

In 61 games this season, Gallagher has 10 goals and 25 points for Montreal, which is just one point out of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. With momentum behind the Habs and young stars rising, this is a very intriguing team as the trade deadline approaches.
