Nashville Predators Acquire Erik Haula from Devils

The offseason began after the Stanley Cup concluded last night with the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup. Today the second trade of the offseason occurred. The first was Chris Kreider, who was traded to the Anaheim Ducks. Today the Predators acquired forward Erik Haula from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Jeremy Hanzel and a 2025 fourth-round draft pick. This will be Haula’s second stint in Nashville after he played the 2020-21 season there.

Erik Haula

Haula played in 69 games for the Devils this season, recording 21 points on 11 goals and ten assists. He was a minus-six and had five power-play points. In his first stint with the Predators, he played in 51 games, recording 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists. He was a plus-four and had three power-play points. Haula has played in 759 career NHL games, recording 337 points on 153 goals and 184 assists. He is a career +48 with 53 power-play points.

Jeremy Hanzel

Hanzel spent the majority of this season in the ECHL with the Atlanta Gladiators. In 61 games he recorded 22 points on three goals and 19 assists. Hanzel was a -24 and had 28 penalty minutes. He also appeared in four games with Milwaukee of the AHL but didn’t register a point and had two penalty minutes.
